Independent restaurant group Bistrot Pierre celebrates it’s landmark 21st birthday this month.
The award-winning French eatery opened its doors for the first time at Milton Street in July 1994 and plans a host of special events to mark the auspicious occasion.
Throughout the month the bistro will be celebrating its birthday by running a number of initiatives to thank diners for their support, including ‘golden tickets’ under chairs and inviting those also celebrating a 21st year, be it a birthday or an anniversary, into the restaurant for a celebratory meal.
The popular restaurant group now comprises of 13 bistrots around the UK, including the latest addition which opened in Bath in June and there are further openings planned later this year.
The Nottingham venue recently received the prestigious trophy for Best Casual Dining at the Nottinghamshire Food and Drink Awards 2015.
Co-founders Rob Beacham and John Whitehead have been friends since school and always dreamed of going into business together.
The pair originally opened their first venue as the Nottingham franchise of restaurant chain Pierre Victoire in 1994. When things took a different direction and the Pierre Victoire group folded four years later, Rob and John rebranded and soon expanded the operation into other cities and haven’t looked back.
Rob said: “Seeing our business grow, working with our fantastic restaurant teams and delivering a great customer experience that you cannot get anywhere else gives us a sense of enormous satisfaction.
“To be expanding during tough economic times makes John and I very proud but it’s the people at the sharp end, those who work on the restaurant floor and in the kitchens, who should take the credit.
“I’d also like to thank our loyal customers who have supported us over the last 21 years as well as welcome new customers who come through our doors every day.
“Nottingham was the site of our very first restaurant so we consider it our home and the city is integral to Bistrot Pierre’s success story.”
