Plans have been submitted to create a new retail park at Morrisons in Clifton.
The Local News understands that the store on Green Lane intends to build an additional seven units within their car park.
Planning documents that were submitted to Nottingham City Council revealed that six of the units would comprise of both retail space and a gym.
The plans come only two months after work to redevelop vacant land nearby, the Clifton Triangle, got under way to make way for a new Lidl supermarket, four non-food retail units, a restaurant and 24 apartments.
Papers that were attached to the planning application say that Morrisons’ proposal would link the Lidl development with all of the shops on Southchurch Drive.
The proposed scheme aims to bridge stated that “the link between Southchurch Drive and the Clifton Triangle development, in addition to the retail units, will offer more choice to consumers and employment opportunities within the locality of Clifton.
“The proposal will provide a mix of complementary use classes facilitating linked trips to the centre of Clifton; creating greater vibrancy within the area with differing peak times for consumer traffic through the additional high-street leisure facilities.”
