Students at Magnus Church of England Academy in Newark hosted a charity coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Organised by head girl Chloe Maxted and her friends Emily Baker and Aimee Kirk, the students sold cakes at break and lunchtimes to staff and fellow students to be part of the World’s largest coffee morning. Efforts on the day raised £114.58.
Magnus Church of England Academy chaplain, Jo Tilley said the event was organised and delivered by students, and spoke of one student in particular.
Jo said: “Our head girl at Magnus, Chloe Maxted, did a great job in running this event.
“She wanted to support this charity as a way of giving back to them and as an act of remembrance for her dad, who passed away when she was young.
“Chloe’s work in this was a great example to younger students, demonstrating leadership in a practical and compassionate way.”
