On 26th August (Bank Holiday Monday), Lowdham Horticultural Society are holding their annual summer show at the Village Hall in Lowdham. This is a lovely family event opening to the public at 1pm.
At 8am, the staging of exhibits starts in the marquee. If you think you have flowers or any
vegetables that you have grown and you would like to enter them in our show, we would be pleased.
If you are good at cooking then why not obtain a schedule and find out the produce classes and enter them in the marquee.
There is also a photographic section and a very well supported young person’s category.
We also have a floral art class so if you are fond of arranging flowers please enter.
This year we have extended our handicraft classes. They are a cross stitch picture, a handmade toy, a knitted garment and a handmade card.
If you have any of these perhaps made over the years, we would love to see them exhibited.
During the afternoon we will be entertained by the Nottingham Concert Band who will play twice for us and the well known Dako Flying Angels will perform their amazing acrobatic routine.
There will be Punch and Judy and lots of side stalls. We also have a duck race along the Cocker Beck brook at 4pm.
At 4:15pm, our trophies will be presented by Mr Paddy Tipping, our Nottinghamshire crime commissioner.
During all of this we shall serve our famous refreshments in the village hall. Tea, coffee and homemade cakes will be available along with a variety of stalls to browse over.
Entrance to the show ground is £2.50. Children under-16 free.
