An independent Housing Needs Survey of Lowdham is to be carried out to find out the true extent of local housing need in the parish.
Midlands Rural Housing is preparing a questionnaire which will be delivered to households in the parish in April.
The returned questionnaires will be confidentially analysed and the responses will enable a report to be written, which will identify whether or not the housing needs, particularly the affordable housing needs, of local people are being met.
The survey is being carried out at the request of the parish council and Newark and Sherwood District Council.
As many households as possible are being urged to complete and return the questionnaire, either to indicate a housing need or to pass comment on parish life and housing issues. A freepost envelope will be provided.
All the information is confidential and individual replies will not be seen by any organisation other than Midlands Rural Housing.
An independent-commissioned survey will provide clear evidence of local housing need and is essential to help maintain and protect the village and ensure local needs are identified.
The results will provide evidence for future planning decisions.
Look out for the survey arriving through your letter box in April and the parish council say will be fully consulted on the results and will then decide what, if anything, needs to be done if any housing needs are identified.
