After an uncertain week, the sun put in a welcome appearance for this year’s Garage Sale Safari, helping to attract plenty of visitors all hoping to bag a bargain.
Almost 70 stalls took part selling everything from children’s toys to decorative glassware.
Thanks must go to the Wheatsheaf for accommodating stalls in the car park, along with the Co-op and Lowes Bakery for selling maps.
Their support as well as the enthusiasm of the whole village is what makes this such a popular and successful event.
This year we raised almost £900, which is a truly magnificent effort from everyone who took part. Watch this space for the date of next year’s event.
If anyone still has items left that they didn’t sell, we are looking for donations of good quality soft toys, games, DVDs and children’s toys for the Summer Fair.
School uniform items can be donated for our pre-loved uniform sales and unwanted gifts and toiletries are always useful as tombola prizes. Please leave anything appropriate at the school reception.
Which brings us neatly onto the subject of our next big fundraiser, the Summer Fair.
Once again we’ll be throwing open the gates of the school on Saturday 22nd June from 12noon to 3pm.
Expect to see the usual stalls and sideshows, with plenty of sweets and treats to be won.
We’ll have performances from Summers in Time and other local groups, plus try your hand at mini golf courtesy of The Lost City, or play to win on the teddy tombola.
We’ll be running a BBQ as usual, with delicious free-range meats from a local butcher and some tasty vegetarian options too – not forgetting the cakes and a regular supply of Prosecco and beer.
We’ll be selling raffle tickets in the Co-op on 15thJuneand with prizes on offer already including a £50 Boden voucher and a family pass to Conkers, tickets are sure to be popular.
To be in with a chance of winning these and other great prizes, pop in and see us, and then don’t forget to join us up at the school on the 22nd when we announce the winners.
For more updates on Summer Fair events and activities keep an eye on our Facebook page and we hope to see you there.
